Organisation professionnelle et Observatoire international des educateurs et universitaires americains. L'organisme publie de nombreux ouvrages sur l'enseignement supérieur américain et international. Il fait office de "think tank" pour les politiques ciblées sur l'enseignement supérieur aux USA.

Institute of International Education (I.I.E.)

Organisation non gouvernementale qui gère l’ensemble des bourses Fulbright dans le monde pour le compte du Département d’Etat, ainsi que d’autres programmes d’aide universitaire internationaux. I.I.E. gère un programme de base de données sur les résultats d'échanges internationaux d’Ingénieurs, Global Engineering Program (Global E3, 70 Universités et Ecole d’Ingénieurs dans 13 pays membres de l’association)

Association of International Educators (NAFSA)

Cette Association organise annuellement un des marches internationaux des formations supérieures les plus importants au monde.
Ce marche représentait en 2004 $13 Milliards de dollars de recettes pour les seules universités US.
Les établissements d’enseignement supérieur du monde entier se retrouvent dans cette manifestation qui a l’avantage de présenter, pendant l’événement, les coûts des formations internationales en temps réel et en situation compétitive.

Cet organisme dépend du Département pour l’Education de l'administration Bush. Il possède beaucoup de bases de données sur les échanges internationaux et les systèmes d’équivalence et d’accréditation entre diplômes universitaires américains et internationaux.

L'Institut offre un réseau d’Ecoles appelées : "Registered providers" (Fournisseurs accrédités de formations en architecture).

Les Organismes privés et auto-regulateurs américains

American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

Un grand nombre de sociétés privées américaines "traitent" les milliers de demandes annuelles d’inscription d’étrangers souhaitant intégrer une université américaine.

Ces sociétés se sont spécialisées dans les évaluations de diplômes échappant à toute équivalence évidente, par exemple les diplômes en provenance du Nigeria, du Bangladesh, d’Irak dont les systèmes de délivrance sont plombes par la corruption, la fraude et le népotisme.

Néanmoins il serait instructif pour une université ou une grande école française de demander, pour quelques centaines de dollars, une évaluation de ses diplômes afin de jauger le niveau d’entrée dans l’université américaine sélectionnée comme partenaire.

This is the official website of the Delegation of the European Commission to the United States. The site has sections devoted to news, publications, policies and legislation, and national profiles. It is a good resource for contemporary issues on the European Union.

The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)
Website
The system whereby students transfer academic credits among European institutions of higher education has been in existence since 1988. The membership list of institutions that use this system is very extensive. The site has explanations of how the system works. It offers a working system of international credit transfers.

The Center for Global Education at the University of Southern California is partially funded by FIPSE to provide information on study abroad. This web site is useful for grantees interested in safety issues, visa requirements, and other administrative issues involved with setting up an international program.
