Interview Denis Peschanski, Projet 2008 Memory and Memorialization
Notre projet PUF a pour titre Memory and Memorialization. Il repose sur deux périodes-évènements de référence que sont la seconde guerre mondiale et le 11 septembre 2001, avec une particularité triple :
- D’être un projet franco-américain
- D’être un projet trans-professionnel, puisqu’on a là la fois les professionnels des musées et scientifiques des champs concernés
- D’être transdisciplinaires, puisque pour traiter de ce sujet de mémoire et mémorialisation, on a à la fois les sciences humaines et sociales, les sciences du vivant et les sciences de l’ingénierie. Nous travaillons avec des historiens, des philosophes, des juristes, des anthropologues, des neuroscientifiques, des psychiatres, et des ingénieurs qui nous permettent de faire des expérimentations pour l’étude des visiteurs de musées.

We had the chance to meet Jeffrey Zink, Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, California Nanosystems Institute at UCLA. Together with Jean-Olivier Durand, Professor at the Université Montpellier 2, they are PUF laureate 2009 with their project “One and two-photon Nanovalves”.

Charles McKenna is Professor of Chemistry and Department Chair (Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry) at USC. Together with, he received a PUF grant for his project “Joint Research at the Chemistry‐Biology Interface” with the Institut de Biologie Structurale Jean-Pierre Ebel.
