Q. What is the grant's
amount?
If accepted, your institution will be awarded a grant of $2,300
to show five films in 35mm, or a grant of $1,800 if films
were shown on DVD. Schools that show a mix of DVD and 35mm
prints will receive a grant corresponding to each film's format.
Q. Can the grant money only be used
for the rental fees for the films, or can it be used to help
publicize the event?
The grant can also be used to help publicize the event and
it is recommended to do so.
Q. Is there a minimum number of films
that we have to show in a festival?
Can universities show 2 or 3 films for it to be considered
a festival?
At least five films need to be shown in the festival in order
to receive the grant.
Q. Do we receive the grant as a reimbursement?
Yes. No grant will be given before the arrival of the post-screening
form at the office of FACE.
Q. How/when do we receive the payment
of the grant?
In order to receive the payment of the grant, you will have
to:
• Fill-up the
online form.
• Upload a document containing the information regarding
your Tournées Festival's budget.
• Send by mail before July 1, 2009 the following additional
documents:
- copy of the distributor’s invoices (or a box office
report);
- 5 copies of your adapted The Tournées Festival postcard;
- copies of your publicity materials (2 examples of each document);
- any reviews or newspaper articles related to the screenings.
You will receive the grant within a month after we receive
your materials.
Q. Are there hi-resolution files of images that can be used
to make posters or should the distributors be contacted for
this?
You have to contact FACE for this request and specify the

Q. Do films need to be screened over
a certain period of time to be considered a ‘festival’,
or can they be screened over the course of a semester and
still be considered a festival?
The Tournées Festival has to be completed within a
one-month period.
Q. When choosing films, is there any
way to find out what the rental fees will be?
You will need to contact each distributor.

Q. Do the distributors need to be paid
right away before getting the films? Or does the grant cover
those costs?

Q. Is it possible for a high school
to apply for a grant?
No. The grant is limited to
universities and colleges.
Q. As the grant is provided for a maximum
of five consecutive years, is it possible to re-apply for
a grant after few years?
The university may re-apply for a grant after three years.
Q. Are Super-VHS allowed?
No. Only DVD, 35mm are accepted.
Q. Do we have to go through The Tournées
Festival program to obtain the films we have selected?
No. The universities will need to deal directly with the distributors.
Q. If the films of the program are available
on NetFlix, do we still need to go through the distributors?
The grant has been created to support public screenings.Netflix
and personnal DVDs are for private projections. It is therefore
necessary to contacts the distributors in order to pay the
public screening fees.
