“Part sun-glazed remembrance of youth, part discursive murder mystery, the third (and most impressive) feature co-directed by Franco-American actor Jean-Marc Barr and screenwriter Pascal Arnold offers up an uncommonly sensual and disquieting take on a familiar youth-movie theme: how the cocoon of adolescent sexual awakening can be torn apart by violent desire (...)Although ‘One to Another’ takes its inspiration from a real-life French homicide case, it's clear that Barr and Arnold aspire to the realm of modern mythology: their Pierre is one of those bright, golden youths who seem doomed to unduly brief lives, and in his end we may see our own inevitable fall from the garden.”
Scott Foundas, LA Weekly

Lucie and Pierre, brother and sister in their 20s, share an intimate relationship with each other and their group of friends. Pierre, unstable and narcissistic, is the leader of the group. They have youth and beauty on their side, and it seems that nothing can resist them. One day Pierre is found savagely murdered. As the police investigation drags on, Lucie, aided by her friends, decides to find out who killed her brother. They discover that Pierre used his youthful body to prostitute himself in parties with corrupted members of the high society. As the plot thickens, multifaceted cross-hatched dependencies and humiliations come to light. The shocking and unanti- cipated ending of the movie prompts as many questions as it answers about how sexuality can both inspire and defeat us. The film was based on a true story. The imagination of the two filmmakers was provoked by the fact that the protagonists had never explained the reasons of their act. In projecting a real event into fiction, Jean-Marc Barr and Pascal Arnold wanted to explore how adolescents could end up in such extreme situations. According to them, today's young adults can carry out crimes and a presumed unexplainable revolt can give access to the intimate sphere of their personality.
